Twisted Wonderland Guide

How to Advance

2023

If you’re here and reading this, you're probably curious, new to the game, or you want to verify something about the game: Twisted Wonderland.

And this is what this guide is for!

Twisted Wonderland is a gacha style game where you play as a nondescript transfer student from our world to Night Raven College (NRC). Your character is tossed into a world were magic exists, there's a talking cat...weasle....thing who insists your his minion and the big baddies from Disney animated films are considered role models?!

What kinda screwed up world is this?!

As you character tries to make friends and keep their nose clean during the school year, challenges will rise to try and end their existence and you'll need power to keep yourself alive!

Collect Cards of your fellow NRC classmates and use them in battles against mages who have lost control and "over-blotted"!

But!

First thing is first: your home page, and what’s on it.

ree

Your home page is what you’ll see after you claim your login rewards everyday. You can edit it, but we’ll get to that in a min. Let's start from left to right.

Rank Level. Inside the magical mirror is your rank level and the purple liquid indicates how close you are to the next rank. Gain EXP from doing Lessons and Exams to fill it.

ree

LP: Starshards (star candy)

ree

These function as your energy. You can do 10 tasks before you have to wait for it to refill. It takes a bit more than 2 hours to get all 10 back. 15 mins to gain back 1. When you go up in rank, you will get a full refill. (If you have 1 star candy left and you rank up, you will have 11 temporarily. Once you use that extra one, it will refill to 10 the next time)

If you run out of star candies but don't want to wait, you can use items to refill it. Click the plus button to see if you have any in your inventory. If you don’t you can buy them back with gems. 10 gems for 10 LP.

Gems

ree

Gems are tough to earn currency in TW. You get them for completing Missions and reading certain stories. You can also buy more for IRL cash by tapping the +

Homepage settings

ree

The gear on the top right hand side of the screen is your homepage settings

NOTE: NOT YOUR GAME SETTINGS.

You can change what boy is featured on the home page, as well as the background and how clear it appears. You can also choose to take away the speech bubbles for the boy.

Outward Arrows

This just centers the boy and takes away all the buttons so you can see him better.

Mail

ree

Information Hub basically. You have access to Notifications, alerts about Maintenance and Updates that are coming or have happened. You can also navigate to the Featured Card Gacha (Random Pull) area from here.

Gift Box

ree

When you get gifts from the store or from login bonuses, they appear in your gift box. To keep track of what you have collected, you can click the gift log.

Wrench and Quill

GAME SETTINGS

ree

From here you can access your profile, friends list, archive, picture album, items, the help menu and your game settings.

ree

Most of these are straight forward.

Friends List:

ree

You can get help from people on your friends lists during battles in game, so make sure you add some powerful ones!

Archive

ree

You can access all kinds of stories here from the main story to events and Misc.

Picture Album

ree

As you play and unlock stories attached to each of the cards, you’ll get photos, you can view them here. They’re organized by house and then by character. (Starts with Heartsabyul)

Items

ree

You can view what items you have in your inventory based on item types

ree

This has a LOAD of in-game how tos and information about the story, so don't be afraid to check it if you can't remember something or need it a little more clear!

Game Settings

ree

Here you can edit the speed of text, the volume and voice levels as well as settings for all other parts of the game. If you don’t want to lose your account, set up a transfer password and link so if you need a new phone, or get it on a tablet–you can access your account

*If you're like me and the defaults are a little too loud, this is also where you can adjust it!

ree

Lessons

ree

You’ll spend a good bulk of your time in the lessons area, as it's how you gain exp and materials to level up your cards so you can progress in the story.

When you chose Lessons, this screen will appear, you can choose normal mode which will ask you to chose a house and a character from said house asa study partner

ree

Once you choose a study partner, you can pick between History or Flight.

ree

You can have 5 characters in a class at a time, so make sure you level them all, and focus on your highest rarity cards first! (We’ll go over these in a bit)

ree

History grants you Card EXP which will level the card up and grant it more power as it gains levels. The materials you get from it are called Blooming Honey and come in 3 sizes. THe bigger the container, the more EXP you get for using it on a card of your choice.

ree

If you happen to choose Flight, then you will gather Vignette EXP, it unlocks special stories that pertain to that card only. You will get Secret Snacks in 3 sizes and they work the same as Blooming Honey. The more you give, the more EXP you gain.

ree

Not only is it crucial to max out the Card level and Vignette level, but you must level up your individual spells as well if you want to go further faster. To do that you need Notepads of the same color as the type of spell you are leveling up.

ree

We’ll go over card battles in a bit, but keep in mind that every card has 2 spells it can do, so level both up by gathering notepads of every color!

ree

There are 3 for every color (4 colors!) for a grand total of 12 different notepads to collect and hoard– you get those from the daily missions!

ree

Each day will be a predetermined color of notepad available to obtain and cast of characters to choose from.

ree

When you select a character, it will ask you to appoint a buddy to raise its level as you play (or rather, let Auto and loop do their thing!)

ree

Buddy levels will help you make better, stronger combo attacks or gain back health depending on the characters and cards in question! So level them all! You can click the character picture to change the character who isn't your study buddy!

ree

From the daily lesson missions, you will also have the chance to earn Alchemy tokens and Special Candy that pertains to that particular character.

ree

Each SSR card need 5 of the special character specific candy (For Trey it is Club Candy, for Leona its Lion Candy etc) *lower rarity cards don't require as many, check how much you need on the cards page!)

ree

Back to the Tokens you can earn. You have a chance of earning them as each character completes its movement during the lesson (Raising a hand to answer a question, or preform a short flight on a broom, or complete a potion)

ree

You get Alchemy Tokens from the Daily Lessons (Potions class) and Exam Tokens from Exams. There are also Crowley Coins, which come from the event: Joint Exams.

You can spend these tokens to buy card materials (or cards themselves!) from the store.

ree

ree

You have access to the store and more, no matter what page you are currently on. Simply tap the menu button in the top right hand corner

ree

ree

As you can see, the homepage overlays the current page and allows you to choose from it.

Stories:

ree

Is where you can read each story, from the main one to individual card stories and chats between characters.

ree

Exams:

ree

Exams are like Lessons in that they take energy and you gain Thaumarks and Exam Medals, both of which can be redeemed in the store.

Exams are battles to see how much damage you can do against a particular element (Fire, Flora, Water or Void) . Do as much as you can by selecting cards that will have advantage over the chosen element and get graded by your teachers to receive your rewards. 2 elements are chosen each week.

ree

During Joint Exams (pictures to come), you can challenge all the elements in turn to try and score as many points as you possibly can by scoring as high as possible to collect more rewards

ree

Moonshards:

ree

The Energy needed to do Exams. You get 5 every day unless you click the + button and use materials to refill by 1 or 5.

The Store: Accessible by clicking the little tent labeled Store

ree

The Store is run by Sam, and he has literally everything you need to make sure your cards are in top form.

You can use gems to buy packages, or your earned tokens–I would suggest making a note of what you need before you go spending your hard earned materials.

You can even spend your Thaumarks and buy a copy of the cards you don’t have, that Sam has in stock. Thaumarks are easily to gain, as you get a little from everything you do (Lessons, Exams etc)

ree

CARDS

Now that we’ve gone over all the different pages, and how to find what and where–let's get into the meat of it. How do you use the materials you earn or buy on your cards to make sure they have the oomph to get you through those boss battles?

Click the button labeled cards, either on the home screen or from the overlay

When you do, it will take you to your list of cards that you own.

ree

You can filter the cards so that lower rarity, or certain characters will be filtered out, or singled out for easy access

ree

Each card is given a Rarity Rating, which you can see on each individual card.

from bottom to top they are

Super Super Rare (SSR - best)

Super Rare (SR -better)

Rare (R -good)

Normal (N - meh)

Select the card you want to level up and begin using the items in order to raise its power.

ree

Cards will have a place labeled Groovify, this will change the image of the card to something different, and raise its power a little

ree

UnCapping

Uncapping happens when you summon (when you choose the Mirror option from the Home screen or the overlay) and get a duplicate of a card you already have. For instance, if I was to get a copy of this Trey card, it would be uncapped 1 time

ree

As you can see, I have only 1 copy of the Deuce card, so none of the dots are filled in.

I would need to collect Awakening Perfume by completing Twistune Missions (like never missing a note, called a full combo, on normal, or getting an SS rating on Hard Mode) in order to raise the max Level cap of the card.

As you can probably guess, leveling your card is going to take a lot of time since F2P (free to play) players have to rely on waiting for their LP to fill naturally. THANKFULLY, the Lessons come with a Loop and an Auto option.

Auto lets the lesson complete on its own and takes you back to the selection screen.

Loop allows you to keep in the same lesson and go until your LP is totally drained.

You can select the Loop option and leave the game running while you do things IRL, it’ll keep going until you run out of LP reserves and alert you when it’s done.

This is a great way to autopilot when you’re doing homework, cleaning or at work. Your LP will refresh itself as you’re busy and you can put it back on auto loop when you get the alert that it’s full again for maximized farming.

The Loop and Auto modes are available for All Lessons (History, Flight and Potions) so you can farm them all in a day if you’re willing to log in everytime you get a notif saying your LP is full!

Guest Room:

ree

Guest room is simply that, a room for guests. You can decorate it how you like by crafting furniture!

ree

You can invite character you have cards of to hang out in the room and collect coins and interact with the furniture you place!

You can invite characters by clicking the letter and envelope button!

ree

Beware though! It can get really dirty and require cleaning!

ree

After clicking the wash bucket, spin circles on the screen to magic it away!

As you invite members and decorate your space, you'll gain friendship levels!

To craft furniture though, you need materials which are available here at the Crafters Gauntlet!

ree
ree

You'll do battle with your cards to gain crafting materials as rewards. To battle though, you won't use star candies but gauntlet points (GP), you can refill them with phial's and bottles of sunshards.

ree

You can get these at the store too!

To redecorate, simply tap the button!

ree

While your in the redecorate menu, you can choose to move items, store them, or craft new ones with the materials youve earned. You can check what you can craft by selecting the hammer icon.

ree

Battles

This was the whole reason I started the guide. People on twitter who are new to these kinds of games, or simply haven’t gotten the hang of the layout, could use a little help because they couldn’t pass Riddle’s Blot Battle in Chapter 1.

So I’ll go over how to do a battle effectively

When you come across a boss battle, it will ask you to choose a friend to help you during the battle.

You want to look at the banner where the Elements for spells is shown. You can see that Fire and Water are highlighted, because that is what your boss will be using, so you need Elements to fight back against them.

ree

So make sure you build your team so that you will gain those advantages, as well as your cards being appropriately leveled to handle the attacks coming their way!

Elements:

Fire beats Flora

Flora Beats Water

Water beats Fire

Void doesn’t have any sort of advantage or disadvantage against any of them.

Select your team based on card level, rarity, and element so you take advantage of everything you can to make the battle as easy as possible.

You can see that I’ve been leveling my cards up as best I can, paying closer attention to my SSR cards.

ree

This is the battle's main page. You can see the Turn counter in the top (The 1 over the infinity sign, this means that the battle goes until I make Riddle’s HP 0)

ree

The Bosses HP is on the left, my team is on the right.

You can see one of the 2 attacks the enemy will take on the left hand screen as well as the types of attacks they have left. ( 3 fire, 2 water, if I don't complete it within those 5 turns, it resets and he gains all 5 attacks back)

ree

To remind yourself of the element cycle, there is a reminder on the bottom left hand corner.

Also, depending on which attack is shown, you can see which of your attacks has an advantage or disadvantage indicated by the arrows. Pink and up means advantage, grey and down is disadvantage.

If you choose two buddies with a high enough buddy level, and offensive skills, you will activate Duo magic (You can read more about Duo magic in game, from the HELP tab we went over earlier.)

You'll get some lines as well as this neat little function before they unleash a more powerful version of the spell you selected.

ree

Here you can see that I’m being attacked by Riddle, but I have the word Resist over the damage. That is because I have an advantage over his element.

ree

ree

When you use an element that is strong against your opponent, it will indicate they're weak against it with pink text.

So a little bit of thought needs to go into which cards you level, which spells you level and which spell types you are going against. You want to make sure you have a good defense as well as offense for each of the 4 types.

This is all I have for now, this should help you level your cards up so that you can take on harder bosses.

Happy Playing!

Huh? I forgot something? Oh yeah!

The event sign!

ree

The little sign that hangs from the stories mirror is the current event that's going on!

TW has a ton of different events, and some are reoccurring like the Bean-fest and Culinary Crucible!

You can click on it to be transported to the event homepage!

ree

Since there are so many varried events, I'll try to do a post for each one individually!

You won't be high and dry though, no matter how many times and event comes around, you'll be given a tutorial on how to go about it and you can revisit these instructions here!

ree

See you in the next one! Don't forget to leave a comment and let me know what you think!
